‘Cheerleading is the next stage of action on the destruction of the sea and climate change’.
Liam Geary Baulch uses the structures of song, dance and costume in performances discussing climate change, activism and contemporary work. He creates choreographed events that often involve public participation. Taking influence from folk culture and protest praxis, he creates characters that are interesting in their internal contradictions, and provide questions about the world. Sea Squad, has seen Liam form groups to represent the sea by cheerleading against climate change. Link
